  Back in May 2015, my wife and I responded to an ad on craigslist for a house rent “the Pursuit of Happiness Realty”. The house was shown to us by an “oily character” by the name of Elliot Schneider – realtor/landlord the house was in dire need of repair. There was no heating system; pipes were ripped out of the walls on the first floor leaving gaping holes on the moulding. The kitchen ceiling was open exposing pipes. The house was totally uninhabitable.
  Elliot promised all repairs would be made prior to us moving in. We decided to rent the house. We moved in on June 1st. The only thing that was allegedly repaired was the hole in the ceiling. The house was a complete mess and the heating pipes were still missing. Again Elliot promised all repairs to the heating system will be made before the fall.
  We paid our rent on time and in cash. On August 1st I advised Elliot when he came to get the rent that we needed the heat fixed. He replied that the boiler was cracked and that he needed to contact the owner.
  This was a surprise to us since we would’ve never moved in if we knew about this at the viewing. I asked Elliot for the owner’s contact information but he refused. I got tired of his excuses and B.S so I did an internet search and I found the owner. Much to her surprise she had no knowledge of us being tenants nor did she no give Elliot permission to rent us the house. The house was in foreclosure.
  Elliot is a scam artist, liar, cheat, ruthless and spineless individual who took advantage us and now is refusing to give us our money back. Civil and criminal chargers has been filed against him. PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS REALTY IS A SCAM…
